How Long Does Picture Hanging Take?
Picture hanging can take between 5 and 30 minutes per picture, depending on size, weight and wall type. It also helps if the fixing on the back is suitable and you already know where you want the picture to go.
As a rough guide, we can usually hang three to five average sized pictures within a 30 minute visit.

What to Expect When We Hang Your Pictures
Hanging pictures properly is about getting the position right and choosing fixings that suit both the wall and the weight of the artwork. When your Surrey Handyman arrives, he will look at the pictures, check the wall type and agree the positioning with you before any fixings are made.
Checking the wall type
We check the size and weight of the picture and how it is fitted on the back. If the fixings are not suitable, we can adjust or replace them so the picture hangs safely and sits flat.
Positioning and layout
Before drilling, we confirm the height and position with you. For multiple pictures or gallery layouts, we measure and mark everything out so the spacing looks balanced and consistent.
Hanging larger or heavier artwork
Bigger or heavier pieces often need extra care when lifting and positioning. We take our time to make sure they are supported properly and fixed securely.
Keeping everything level
We make sure each picture is level before final tightening. Small adjustments are made as needed so the finished result looks right.
A tidy finish
Once the pictures are hung, we tidy the area and remove any dust or debris. You can check the positioning and ask for small adjustments before we leave.
