How Long Does Washing Machine Installation Take?
Most washing machine installations take between 30 minutes and one hour when the appliance is being connected to existing pipework. This includes positioning the machine, levelling it properly and connecting the water supply and waste.
If the washing machine is being installed in a new location, the job can take longer. Running new supply or waste pipework, or modifying existing connections, can take up to a few hours depending on access and layout. Your handyman will allow the time needed to complete the installation safely and make sure everything works as it should.

What to Expect When We Install Your Washing Machine
Installing a washing machine properly helps prevent leaks, excess movement and long term issues. Our approach is practical and methodical, focusing on safe connections, correct positioning and careful testing so the appliance is ready to use straight away.
Checking the space and access
We begin by checking the space where the washing machine will sit, making sure there is enough room for the appliance and safe access to the connections. This helps avoid problems once the machine is in place.
Assessing existing pipework
We inspect the water supply and waste pipework to confirm they are suitable for the installation. If the washing machine is being fitted in a new location, we assess the best point to connect into nearby services and explain what is involved.
Positioning and levelling the machine
Washing machines need to be level to reduce movement and noise during spin cycles. We position the appliance carefully and adjust the feet so it sits firmly and evenly on the floor.
Connecting water and waste
We connect the water inlet and waste hose securely, checking that all fittings are tight and properly sealed. Where needed, we can adapt or extend existing pipework to suit the appliance.
Testing the machine
Once connected, we run a short test cycle to check for leaks, confirm proper drainage and make sure the machine operates smoothly.
Leaving a tidy finish
After testing, we clean the area around the washing machine, remove any packaging or debris and leave the space tidy. You are welcome to check the installation and ask any questions before we leave.
