How Long Does Dishwasher Installation Take?
Most dishwasher installations take between 45 minutes and two hours, depending on the type of appliance and the existing connections. Freestanding dishwashers are usually quicker to fit, while integrated models take longer due to door fitting and plinth adjustments.
If the dishwasher is replacing an existing unit and the plumbing is already in place, the work is normally straightforward. Where changes are needed to the water supply, waste or surrounding units, your handyman will allow extra time to make sure everything is fitted securely and works as it should.

What to Expect When We Install Your Dishwasher
Installing a dishwasher is about making sure the appliance is connected correctly, fitted securely and set up to work properly from day one. When your Surrey Handyman arrives, he will check the space, inspect the existing connections and confirm the best way to install your dishwasher safely and neatly.
Checking the existing connections
We start by checking the water supply, waste connection and power source to make sure they are suitable for the new dishwasher. If you are replacing an old unit, we will confirm everything is in the right place before fitting begins.
Positioning and levelling the appliance
Dishwashers need to be level to work correctly and avoid leaks or drainage issues. We position the appliance carefully, adjust the feet and make sure it sits square within the space before securing it.
Fitting integrated dishwashers
For integrated dishwashers, we take care fitting the door to match your kitchen units. This includes aligning the door properly, adjusting hinges and trimming or refitting the plinth so everything lines up neatly.
Secure connections and testing
Once fitted, we connect the water and waste, secure the appliance and run a short test cycle. This allows us to check for leaks, proper drainage and correct operation before we leave.
A tidy finish
When the installation is complete, we clean up the work area, remove any packaging or debris and leave your kitchen tidy. You are welcome to check the installation and ask any questions before we go.
